Some of the features I wanted were atomic timekeeping, solar power, analog/digital display, illumination, alarm, stopwatch, and timezones. And I wanted all of these things in a watch that was reasonably-sized, as I don't have linebacker wrists. This Oceanus watch was about as close I could get. I gave up on some of the features when I learned that solar power watches make concessions to certain power-grabbing features, like a full sized second hand and push-button illumination. I also gave up on finding the analog/digital display (though ironically, some of the previous Oceanus watches had this feature)All in all, I like this watch. Unlike the other reviewer, I haven't had any trouble having it synch with Boulder everynight...provided I put it on the windowsill. The first website that I went to, I was able to order it, but then they called the next day to tell me it was out of stock! I should have gone through Amazon in the first place, they have everything! It's a very classy, streamlined watch and it's easy to tell time. The only setback is that when my husband sets it in the window, it resets the time an hour back. I don't think the watch is set up for DST. I have to say while it gets compliments, it is not so great. I might like this watch better if I lived closer to Boulder CO and its atomic clock broadcast.The buttons on the watch make one think you have chronometer functions such as stop watch and so forth. Well one does not... The instructions and functionality of this watch are clugy at best. Terrible at worst. It has self-corrected its EST to DST only ONCE. Again this might improve if one is closer to Boulder CO's broadcast. East Coast folks should just avoid buying this watch. |
