Citizen Men's BL5280-52E Eco-Drive Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Watch Reviews
| 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful By Patrick Justus "Patrick Justus" (Southern California) - See all my reviews This review is from: Citizen Men's BL5280-52E Eco-Drive Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Watch (Watch) I find myself agreeing with the folks who love this watch and the gentleman from Parker, CO who doesn't. Yes the watch is reliable, attractive, and sturdy. The features are great and the design is 99% perfect. But, sadly I would not purchase this particular Citizen again, or advise you to. The problem is that the crown, which is used to change from time to alarm, slips on its own back and forth between modes. The result is that you never can tell what time it is unless you take the time to look carefully at the tiny subdial that reveals which mode the "magic crown" has chosen for you. It is really maddening. The only thing worse than a watch that doesn't tell time is one that tells you the wrong time. If anybody knows a solution to this problem, please post it. I'm tempted to try super glue. I've tried chewing gum and wall paste unsuccessfully. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful This review is from: Citizen Men's BL5280-52E Eco-Drive Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Watch (Watch) I've had this watch for about 4 months now and it performs great. I can always tell what time it is. The most important features to me were the Water Resistance rating of 200 meters and that it does not run on a battery that needs to be replaced. The perpetual calendar was an added bonus - no need to update the date at the end of most months. The 24 hr dial also let's you know if it's AM or PM. After the initial setting to the current time, date, alarm and alt-time zone correctly, I haven't had touch anything until daylight savings came around. I am able to wear this watch while swimming, in the shower, or exercising and it looks great too. The only thing negative I have about the watch is that the chronograph only goes to a maximum of 1 hour. I've learned to get around this limitation by rotating the bezel starting position to the hour hand if I'm going to time anything over an hour. Overall, it's been a very low maintenance watch that I can wear anywhere and tells time great. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful |
