Mine arrived with the second hand lying loose on the dial. Reminded me of one of those tin window boxes you played with as a kid, trying to roll a metal ball into a hole. Upon closer examination I determined that the watch, while modeled attractively, is of similar cheap toy quality, with the hands foremost and apparently (also according to another review) being its weakest point. The screw-down crowns are a nice touch (although my terrific $45 Casio Men's MDV102-1AV Sea Analog Illuminator Dual LED Dive Watch diver has them too) but I'd hold my breath taking this watch for a dive... It looks good if you want something rather bulky and industrial looking. Mine keeps good time and is relatively well-built. The hands are decently positioned, including the second hand, and the rotating internal bezel works smoothly and is cool. The second hand does exhibit a small overshoot and bounce-back when ticking. Also, the hands will move slightly when the rotated, i.e. they are slightly loose and gravity will pull them. They move about 1/120 of a rotation, and it isn't really a problem with everyday use and you don't notice it unless you try to make it happen.The screw down crowns are a bit flimsy when unscrewed and pulled out, but are solid when screwed down. The strap, while nice, is really, really stiff. This makes wearing the watch a bit uncomfortable and the band will probably need to worn-in a lot before it gets comfortable. It is stylish and sturdy. May not be the name you want to wear to impress your friends (you know. boys with toys) but this watch is quality at 80% less than similar quality Swiss made watches. My watch came attractively packaged. If you want a stylish watch and have the humility and don't need to show everyone the size of your disco stick, then this watch and these watches in general from Golana are for you. |
