They have a light-sensitive cell behind the face that recharges the watch even in indoor light, so it doesn't need new batteries until the rechargeable one dies, and it lasts for many years. My ten-year-old Citizen Eco-Drive watch died recently, having run flawlessy without ever needing a new battery for all that time. The crystal had recently been scratched, so I replaced it with this model, which appears to be the thinnest (4.2mm) in Citizen's product line. To get that thin look, you sacrifice a hand that counts seconds. The bracelet is as wide as the watch itself, ao it's about 1/4" wider than a normal watch band. But the case is relatively small (1-3/8" x 1" wide) so it doesn't look oversized even on a small wrist.The booklet that comes with the watch doesn't tell you how to shorten the bracelet, which has enough links for a wrist with about a 7-1/2" circumference.
