I waited several months before deciding to buy it because it was pretty expensive for a watch in my opinion. I wanted a black watch and the others I found just didn't look as good to me. I don't think it is really worth what I paid for it but I still really like it and sometimes one just has to pay more.About the watch: The band is mostly a matte black and is Ion Plated stainless steel. The edges of the band and the case itself have more of a polished glossy finish you can't really tell by the picture and it picks up oil from your hands and smudges on those parts fairly easily. The band is 6/8" wide at its narrowest point and I'd like it to be about 1/8" wider. There are already a couple minor scratches in the band plating and it looks like eventually it could wear some of the black off from normal wear. Recommend it to anyone interested in a well built fully featured solar chronograph. The only issue is that I did not buy from Amazon! A third party has jacked up the price because it is in limited quantity (I talked to them personally). $600 is over $100 more than the suggested resale from Casio. Not sure why Amazon permits such but be that as it may, I purchased this elseware at $500 and it was instock. The attention to detail on the face is impressive, and the build quality is fantastic. Time keeping is extremely accurate because of the radio update, and the solar power is a major plus. Every now and then I'll leave it under a lamp for the day, and that should be all you have to do to ensure it keeps ticking. One thing I will note however, if you look at the picture the green carbon-fiber backing looks as if it's woven, with the tiny black gaps in-between the weave. The backing is actually a single piece of molded plastic. Disappointing, but not a deal breaker, it still looks great. |
