| 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful  Unbelievable quality, durability, and price, This review is from: Timex Expedition Military Black Chrono Watch - Timex T49823 (Electronics) You will be hard pressed to find any item of comparable quality in this price range.The Chronograph is the most accurate I've ever seen on a quartz analog, with an added touch of precision to be found in the fact that it can record time to 1/20th of a second. The date display is similar to that found on many aviator style watches, with a rolling calendar exposing four dates at once. The case is heavy, sturdy, and, having beaten this watch through mud, sludge, water, metal doors, it has taken only the most superficial, hairline scratches on the outer edge of the bezel. The mineral crystal is spotless and strong. And, at 100m WR, all of your basic exposures to water are covered with no worries. If you are familiar with a slide rule, this watch will also permit you to calculate every basic math function with a good degree of accuracy. The slide rule is on the dual rotating bezel which itself is very sturdy and will not move easily - so you don't have to worry about... I didn't expect to be disappointed, and I'm not. It's a chrono, and a chrono should have a stop-watch feature. Too many so-called chronos have a stop second hand, but it's often one of the small dials that are the stop-watch. Too tiny to measure seconds closely.This Timex uses the main second hand for the stop feature, just like I like it. It has other features I use as well, like date, and the date readout is a window at about 4 o'clock that shows four dates, the current one being the one exactly opposite the 4 o'clock numeral. The beauty of the four dates is that when a hand would otherwise obscure the date, the dates I see on either side of the current date clue me in. Nifty. This is a big-face watch. I should mention the Indiglo illumination feature, which makes the face glow for about 5 seconds withe the push of the stem. I honestly don't know what to say without gushing! It's a little taller than you'd expect, and can certainly dwarf a small wrist, but if it's the right size for you this watch is amazing! (My wrist is 6-5/8" around, the watch case basically covers the top side of my wrist completely.) |
