Since then it's rarely been off of my wrist during my waking hours. After ten years it's required no maintenance, and it continues to keep excellent time. I've not babied it, and it does have some scratches on the case and crystal, but nothing worth worrying about. A few times each year I take some time to clean out the stuff that builds up in the band (pipe cleaners are great for this), but that's the only attention the watch has had. My replacement was delivered promptly and in pristine condition. The watch was running and the time zone was correct, but I adjusted the time to make it accurate to one second. After only eight weeks, I can see that it is not quite as accurate as the nine-year old I sold. It is permanently stuck a half-day off (switches dates every day at noon) & can't be adjusted more than a full day at a time. Every other watch I've ever owned the date can be fine-tuned to the half-day. I suppose I could put it in a dark place, let the battery run out & take my chances re-starting it? Too much trouble, just live with it. Other than that disappointment, it's everything I need & want in a daily watch (simple classy style, low profile, easy to read, low maintenance [have been very pleased with teh Eco-Drive mechanism], durable), and has served me fairly well for 3-4 years. However, with this annoying glitch, I will buy another brand for my next watch. Citizen should have done a better job with their watches in this class. |
